Notes

Do not join unless otherwise noted.

Chs at the beginning of rounds or rows do not count as a stitch.

Burgers should measure near 2” tall with worsted weight yarn and an f hook.

Top Bun

Make 1 in gold.

Row 1: Starting with a magic circle, sc 6. Pull tight. (6)

Round 2: inc x6. (12)

Round 3: (sc, inc) x6. (18)

Round 4: (sc 2, inc) x6. (24)

Round 5: sc 24. (24)

Round 6: sc 24. (24) (skip this row for a shorter bun)

Round 7: sc 24. Sl st to next st to join.

Using a small amount of off white worsted weight yarn, embroider sesame seeds on the bun (if desired).

Change color to off white for the remaining rounds if desired. This will be the inner part of the bun, which will not be visible when assembled.

Round 8: Ch 1. In blo, repeat (sc 2, dec) x6. (18)

Round 9: Repeat (sc, dec) x6. (12)

Finish off with a 12”-18” tail and very lightly stuff the bun. Using your yarn needle, weave the tail into the flo of each stitch and pull tight to close. Secure the tail, but do not trim or weave in the end. This end will be used to assemble the burger.

Bottom Bun

Make 1 in gold.

Row 1: Starting with a magic circle, sc 6. Pull tight. (6)

Round 2: inc x6. (12)

Round 3: (sc, inc) x6. (18)

Round 4: (sc 2, inc) x6. (24)

Round 5: sc 24. (24) Sl st to next st to join.

Change color to off white for the remaining rounds if desired. This will be the inner part of the bun, which will not be visible when assembled.

Round 6: ch 1. In blo, repeat (sc 2, dec) x6. (18)

Round 7: Repeat (sc, dec) x6. (12)

Add a very small amount of stuffing. You can also choose not to stuff this part at all. Finish off with a tail to sew the hole closed. Using your yarn needle, weave the tail into the flo of each stitch and pull tight to close. Secure the tail and weave it in.

Cheese

Make 1 in yellow,

Row 1: Ch 7. Beginning in the 2nd ch from the hook, sc across. (6)

Rows 2-6: Ch 1 and turn. Sc 6. (6)

Do not finish off.

Edging: Ch 1, and rotate to begin stitching down the left edge of the piece. Sc evenly around the square, making a ch 2 in each corner. After stitching across the top edge, ch 2 and sl st to first sc of the edging to finish off. Weave in ends.

Burger Patty

Make 2 in dark brown.

Round 1: mc, sc 6. Pull tight. (6)

Round 2: inc x6. (12)

Round 3: (sc, inc) x6. (18)

Round 4: (sc 2, inc) x6. (24)

Ch 1, sk 1, sl st to join. Weave in ends, but leave a long tail at the end of one of the pieces.

Holding the right sides together, sew the pieces together around the outside edge. Leaving the wrong side facing outward makes a more realistic beef patty!

Lettuce

Make 1 in green:

Round 1: mc, sc 6. Pull tight. (6)

Round 2: inc x6. (12)

Round 3: (sc, inc) x6. (18)

Round 4: (sc, sc, 3dc in the same st) x6. (30)

Slip st to next st to join and finish off. Weave in ends.

Assembly

Stack pieces in the order desired. Using the tail from the top bun, sew through the burger patty and toppings, aligning them with the bun. Sew across the top side of the bottom bun, stitching into and back out of the flat side only. Sew back up through the layers to the bottom of the top bun. Pull tight and secure the tail, hiding the end within the top bun.

Add some fishhook earrings to create a statement pair of burger earrings!
